Let me introduce myself

Hello , my name is Andrew. Born again Christian, Father, Husband, and engineer who loves to learn how this and that works.

Having a Bachelors degree in mechanical and manufacturing engineering, I've always enjoyed understanding how complexity is built upon simplicity when broken down.

One of those complexities has been websites. To some they can be simply put together by wordpress or wix, but I like to answer "but, how does it work?", knowing what it takes to produce its outcome.

I find it reflects God in his grand design, by His Word complexity came into existance the many bits of creation combined into what we call reality. Scientists have been reverse engineering creation since science dawned. That's how I see reality. In my day-to-day I get to build with what God has provided, solve for what problems we humans create.

Now I write this knowing you may disagree, you've even made up your mind on how I've made an impression to you. That's ok. I hope you read on.

My faith is indeed the very foundation to what I do, but I don't seek to force it on anyone. I simply seek to live it out, that by my works you will know christ in me.

Setting up this portfolio has taken much time to even get to this stage. Many years went into slowly learning the basics of software. From trying to learn languages to web frameworks. I finally settled on simple, mkdocs with material gets the job done. A portfolio doesn't need heavy reactivity, when I'm not looking to be a web dev. The right tool for the job is best.

I've seen in my job how programming to automate the day to day is both rewarding and helpful. I'll get into what my job consists of elsewhere.

Fun fact

Initial development of this site as an idea got deployed from my mobile (Samsung Fold 4). Using UserLand I'll explain further in a workflow how that's possible. I was able to (don't tell the wife) develop software on holiday, as if I was using a laptop. It's testament to current technology that I can develop softwware projects on a mobile phone and push changes to cloud infastructure and see those changes effective within seconds.
